Module “Creativity and Curiosity Development”

Teacher Kristina Kondrotienė, deputy head of the preschool education school, researcher of the VMU project “Teacher Training Program for Gifted and Talented Students (GATE)”, German and English teacher.

Topics of the classes:

Let’s get acquainted. Presentation and discussion of the module content, topics. Introduction to the profession of a creator (creating mandalas, paintings from natural materials, casting a painting in watercolor). Challenge: presentation of your creative work – exhibition.
Why are children afraid of people in white coats? Health, viruses and bacteria. Healthy food pyramid. Challenge: narrative game “Doctor’s office”.
Are bridges only structures? We are engineers-builders. Calculation, measurement tasks. Challenge: we construct bridges ourselves (lego, paper, plasticine or other, selected ones).
When does a baker’s day start and what does it look like? Discussion of the daily rhythm, food products, a game to develop attention and concentration, mathematical tasks with weighing and measuring. Challenge: we cook ourselves.
We create art ourselves! A virtual trip to a museum or Botanical Garden. Finding and fixing contrasts and geometric shapes in the environment (photo frames). Challenge: we create from paper (creating a context).
Review and discussion of module moments. Challenge: kahoot game and awards.
