How the Israeli education model educates gifted Lithuanian children and why 30 percent of Nobel Prize laureates are Jewish

In our country, great attention is paid to children with special needs who have learning difficulties. A whole system of assistance for such children has been created, specialists have been trained, and programs have been developed. However, gifted children are also children with special needs, but until now there has been no support system for them, says Dileta Tindžiulienė, coordinator in Lithuania of the international Lithuanian-Israeli gifted children education program “Gifted”, which seeks to discover talented children and develop their abilities. We talk to the 15min GYVENIMO interviewee about what impressed her about the Israeli education model, why this particular program was chosen, and what form it took in Lithuania.
